MTN REVEALS HOW MUCH THEY MAKE IN EACH COUNTRY


MTN has released its latest annual financial results, which show how much money the company makes in the countries in which it operates.
MTN has released its financial results for the year ended 31 December 2015, which show that the group’s revenue increased 0.1% to R146 billion.
MTN increased its subscriber base by 4.1% to 232.5 million, while data revenue increased 302% to R33.9 billion.
The company’s EBITDA – which is essentially “revenue minus expenses” excluding interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization – decreased 8.6% to R60 billion.
The group’s earnings before tax, depreciation, amortization, interest, and goodwill impairment losses (EBITDA) margin declined 3.9 percentage points to 40.9%.

MTN’s ‘Small opco cluster’ comprises units in Yemen, Afghanistan, Benin, Congo, Zambia, Guinea, Rwanda, Cyprus, Liberia, Botswana, Guinea-Bissau, Swaziland, and South Sudan.
MTN’s ‘Large opco cluster’ includes operations in Iran, Ghana, Syria, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Uganda, and Sudan.
