" Cameroon is the Only Country Where After An Accomplishment, people try to drag you down" - Wax Dey | Fab-book

#Afrima rules are clear: they nominate you and winner  is chosen based on public voting, monitored and verified by Price Waterhouse Coopers. Winning is not based on mere popularity. It means if you want to win, campaign for your fans to vote for you. If you want a particular artist to win, vote for that artist. Don't wait after someone else has done the hard work and come complaining on social media when your favourite artist does not win.

We have more Facebook posts than actual votes - what do you expect? That AFRIMA should change their rules next year and award based on Facebook opinions? They have done enough by giving us the platform - what we do with it is entirely up to our voting power and the importance that nominated artistes attach to the awards.

Locko was nominated  alongside Maitre Gims, but he did the work and he won. Should it have gone to Maitre Gims, when he did not work for his fans to vote for him? No.

CAMEROON is the only country where after such an accomplishment, people try to drag you down instead of encouraging you, or asking how you did it so that they too can copy. I have seen other countries take minor achievements by their artists and create great things out of them.

My advise, enter for awards where there is judging based on popularity and not voting, then you can chill and wait for that to happen. For now, that is not the case here.

Secondly, when someone does something for Cameroon, encourage that person. It doesn't make you poorer or less accomplished to support your compatriot. She worked hard to achieve a particular objective, she didn't steal anything.

Some of the best talent in Cameroon is wasting because they chill and refuse to put in the work they need to make their talent bring them the money or recognition the deserve.

People have different goals in this game. Choose your goal, and work to achieve it. There is no glory in social media witch-hunting. Every little drop that a Cameroonian goes out there and brings back, helps make everyone better! What shall we achieve by tearing down the spirit of a young girl who framed of getting something, and even though she was clearly weaker than the others, decided to put in the work to take it home? We all have something to learn form that rather:

Congrats to Montess and Locko. Keep flying our colors high!!!!

And the performances in the night were great.   Miss did her thing on the red carpet with grace and style, Sophy Aiida held it down like a boss alongside Akon, Ewube and Montess rocked the crowd -  Locko and Mr Leo particularly made me proud to be Cameroonian yesterday - delivering one of the best performances of the night, and thereby sending a strong message to Naija: that Kamer has arrived!
