In a communique yesterday, Friday 24th of February, minister of Secondary Education, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle, denied reports that the academic year 2016/2017 will be a blank year. Rumour had been circulating earlier that due to the on-going strike in Southern Cameroons, the academic year in the whole of Cameroon will be blank.
The statement was read yesterday, 24th February on CRTV's 7:30 pm news. In the statement, the minster said that there will be no blank year. He also added that all official exams will take place and credible certificates will be handed out at the end of the 2017 session.
