Cameroonian born, New York based International Fashion designer Kibonen Nfi is a young, vibrant, passionate, intelligent, talented Lady and most of all an accurate showcase of the Believers' Loveworld Exceptionalism; Unlike her domain, She is born again. At the wake of 2008, the ever smiling Kibonen began her designing journey, sought various ways of attaining excellence in the competitive New York of World Class mates and later on masterminded the creation of her brand KIBONEN|NY in 2011.
Her designs are inspired from the rich Cameroonian culture, particularly the cultural designs of the North West region, which she combines with some Western tissues to bring forth uniquely creative and beautiful designs like the dress is known as the "Lupita dress".
Currently on an amazing project- The Lupita Dress Pop-Up Shop tour, it is evident the internationally acclaimed fashion designer is on a steady climb to the top. Exactly one year ago, award winning actress, Lupita Nyongo'o wore two of Kibonen NY dresses in the same week and to very public events. This was a recognition that skyrocketed the young designer's brand by many leaps and bounds. The dress has since gone on to be known as the "Lupita dress".
In a bid to bring this magnificent celebrity-worthy dress to the lay fashion lover, Kibonen started off the Lupita Dress Pop-Up Shop Tour which began on November 2 in Douala and will move on to Lagos, Yaounde and other major international cities of the world like London, South Africa and more. In her own words, she seeks to bring these beautiful designs right to our beds.
