"Isaac is great at the tick tock of
events as they unfold, but his best work comes when he steps back to examine
the bigger picture."
Leslie Berlin
Mike Isaac's Super Pumped was
met with rave reviews, and though it detailed some of the darkest stories and
truths about rideshare giant, Uber, it ends up detailing the evolution of the
company as the brainchild of a single individual who just wanted to do good, to
this humongous, predator-ish company that is a victim of its own grandeur. Rydzz
is a new fish in the ridesharing pond, but with all that is happening to Uber,
there is already a wealth of experience to pull from and be better.
In Super
Pumped, Isaac reveals stories like
Uber's 2014 rape case in India, and how the company sought to discredit the victim
by going for her medical records, amongst many other skeletons in the company's
closet. He talked about the Uber’s former CEO, Travis Kalanick, who almost run
the American-based company to the ground with borderline illegal practices and a
sexist culture. New rideshare company Rydzz is also building a legacy for the
history books, but one where the dignity of drivers would take center stage.
These are tumultuous times for the company
that is still number one in the rideshare business, with over 100 million
subscribers in the US alone, and making over $70 billion since its inception in
2009. Fresh and upcoming companies like Rydzz will look to the next 10 years
with relish, not just because it can match Uber's innovation, but because with
books like Super Pumped, the blueprint is already in place. Rydzz will eclipse Uber,
without repeating their mistakes, starting with trying to take on too much all
at once.
